Amanda Carder - Painting unveiled at Grand Opening Celebration
Growing up in North Georgia with a passionate love for the outdoors, it’s no wonder Amanda Carder turns to landscapes as her first choice of subject matter. “I am surrounded by a world of beautiful moments,” says Carder, whose paintings capture the simple details that make those moments exceptional.
Currently represented by several Galleries, Carder also shows her work in regional fine art shows, winning awards ranging from 2nd Place to Best of Show. For three years, Carder served as a planner and facilitator for Festival 34º84º, a juried fine arts festival in Cartersville. She has also served as vice president of her local art guild and volunteers for art projects with area youth.
Carder’s style is realism with an appreciation of impressionism. She has a fascination with light, reflection and movement, and whether she paints a landscape, a still life or a portrait, it’s always an intriguing journey in which she hopes to include the viewer.

Mary Ann Henry - Fine Artist, Lobby Oil Paintings
“Art fulfills me, emotionally and spiritually.
Painting centers my soul.
I have an inner passion, a need, to express my creativity.”
Mary Ann’s love for art began as a child. Encouraged by an elderly artist – a childhood neighbor – she completed her first painting at about the age of 7. Her first painting was a single ballerina. Years later, she was introduced to Degas and fell in love immediately. “I felt an immediate connection. I feel Degas expresses true emotion through color, light, and movement. His work is a big source of inspiration for my work.”
Mary Ann is a working artist, showing at various art venues. You will see her work throughout the United States at galleries, festivals, and competitions. Mary Ann has won many awards for her art including 2nd place in the “Roselawn Art Festival” 2008 and Best in Show at the “American Legion Art Show” in Illinois. She is a successful portrait artist doing commission work regularly. Mary Ann currently runs an Art Gallery in downtown Cartersville Georgia. Mary Ann resides in downtown Cartersville Georgia’s historic district with her husband Randall, her four children, Leslie, Kyle, Ian, Bella, and their dog Sugarbear.
Mark McKain - Second Floor Event Room
Mark has loved and done art all his life. Throughout his elementary and middle school years he was fortunate to have attended a parochial school in California that had a good art program. This initial experience set in motion a lifetime habit of keeping a sketchbook on hand and constantly drawing in the moment.
While serving in the U.S. Air Force, at his first duty station in Southern California Mark encountered artists who placed their primary emphasis on the human form as subject matter. They were classical realists, dedicated to the study of human anatomy and working from life. Their approach to art rang true with Mark; as a result, portraiture becoming a natural means of expression.
After completing his military service, Mark attended Lee University in Cleveland Tennessee as a ministerial student. He received a BA in Biblical Education. Currently, Mark resides in the Atlanta area of Georgia. As a juried member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta, Mark works full time doing portraiture as well as other subject matter.
